The monitor comes with a plastic wall mounting plate, nails, and adhesive strips. Depending on your mounting surface you may use either the nails or adhesive strips. Do not use the adhesive strips on wallpaper, brick, textured walls, or rough surfaces.
1. Locate a spot at least 4ft off the ground to mount the monitor
2. Attach the mounting plate, with the hook facing upwards, to the wall using either the adhesive strips or nails
3. Attach the monitor to the mounting plate by aligning the slot on the back of the device to the hook on the mounting plate
4. Ensure that the monitor is mounted securely on the wall
4. Using the Leak Detection Sensor
Plug the leak detection cable into the jack labeled “Leak” on the monitor. Place the sensor end of the rope flat on the ground where water or leaks may occur.
Battery Management
The Hygge Monitor comes installed with a replaceable CR123A battery. These batteries will provide roughly 6 days of backup power to the device during power outages.
When on battery power, you will see the battery indicator image in the top right of the device page in your online portal. This will also display how much battery life is remaining.
To replace the battery, remove the screw from the battery door on the back of the monitor. Remove the old battery and insert a new CR123A battery. Check that the + and - ends of the battery match with the + and - ends of the battery cradle.
